Why should I do business with you?  What makes you the person I should trust?  I have found that most people in business can not give me a real answer to those two questions.  They will talk about quality and service, but when I ask why you rather than someone else offering the same service and quality of product, they don’t have an answer.

I recommend that you sit down in privacy and write a statement of why I, the prospect, should choose you over all your competition.  What do you bring to your clients that makes you special in your field?  What is the VALUE of your service over all others offering the same product or service?  Why should I trust you to look out for my best interest?

You need to know the positive answers to these questions and believe your answers are true.  When I meet you I will determine in five minutes or less what you believe about yourself.  If you project confidence, I will read that as competence.  If you have self doubts, I will have reservations and defenses that you will have to overcome before I will trust you.  Until I trust you I am just a prospect, not a client.  You had better believe in yourself, your service and your product or I will never believe in you and will have to look around to find someone I can trust.  

Make the list and then you had better believe it is true.  It will change the way people perceive you and create a high level of trust and a desire to do business with you.  Have a great week!
